TalkEnglish News
Forouzan Hears the Gospel!

Forouzan from the Middle East, was the first person to complete the TalkEnglish program! She eagerly studied three times a week with TalkEnglish instructors in the DFW Church (Dallas, Texas) to better her English and to learn more about Jesus and Christianity. After completing the TalkEnglish program, Forouzan made a decision that she wanted to follow Christ wholeheartedly. Forouzan came to the United States with some reading capabilities but no English speaking skills. Her mother served as her translator. After completing the TalkEnglish program, Forouzan is now able to carry on simple conversations and is currently enrolled in a community college ESL program. Congratulations, Forouzan!
United Nations Day Opens Doors for TalkEnglish
Walking through the parking lot of Brookhaven Community College campus, Ted and Mary Snow were simply planning to drop in to search for a few advertising venues for their new TalkEnglish program. Stepping inside the Student Center, they stumbled right into Brookhaven’s United Nations Day. There was no need to find any advertising venues. Advertising had found them!
Rows of tables covered with clothes, food, maps, and collectibles from all around the world filled the Students Center while international students behind each table touted their wares. Ted and Mary simply began opening their mouths and United Nations Day began opening the doors for TalkEnglish. Within three hours of mingling and food tasting, Ted and Mary had met twenty international students. Eight students from eight different countries and three different continents signed up for TalkEnglish that day, including five men and three women. Four other students were willing to refer the program to their friends and three students represented organizations willing to refer the program to members of their group. Two students even asked if they could come to church.
Glory to Christ for a great kickoff to the Dallas program!
